All,

In order to make this a more politically themed website and expand on our news offerings, Baker Newswire will be undergoing maintenance for the next few weeks.  Please be patient – we know you’ll like what you see!

Happy New Year,

Aaron Baker

To all that have visited the website, I thank you.  I’ve created it for three reasons: (1) I love politics, and I know there are many others that do as well, (2) for those that are tired of the typical news networks, political blogs of any type can be quite refreshing, and can provide a level of insight and candidness not seen on a network, and finally, (3) though this blog will center around all things politics, there is really no political website dealing with politics in North and South Carolina.  Have you heard anything about the various state Senate races?  Have you heard enough about the Governor’s race?  You see where I’m going.

My goal is two-fold: I want this to be a political stop for everyone, however I want it to focus on local politics as well.  I welcome comments about anything that I’m doing (or not doing), so please check the “About” page for ways to contact me.

Finally, I would like to recommend Carolina Politics Online.  They have done a phenomenal job in documenting the 2008 races in the Carolinas, and I look forward to working with them.

Please continue to visit!
